The Group People Insight Team sit within the People & Property division we have a recently formed Analytics & Insight squad to helps us on the Group’s strategic journey to build the workforce of the future. We’re looking to grow the party with a new Data Scientist role – come and join us from whatever Hub you consider home as we are flexible on location!
This role will involve working on projects and partnering with teams across People & Property using your knowledge of data practices and principles to support the discovery of advanced insights using analytics techniques, our suite of BI tools and wealth of colleague data available from our strategic Workday solution.
As a team we take ownership of the entire data science life cycle from end-to-end analytics processes covering hypothesis ideation, data sourcing and management, statistical testing, visualising and storytelling with our results.
We have lots of experienced Workday SMEs on hand to help with the art of the possible so experience with people data would be helpful, but not essential.
The role of a data scientist ...
Working in a small team you'll support all stages of a project - from exploring the problem statement and experimenting with different modelling approaches to developing industrialised applications powered by Machine Learning.
As a data scientist you’ll perform the following activities:
  • Work with team members to engineer data from our strategic Workday data source, jam-packed with insights from our 65,000 colleagues
  • Develop experimental models and machine learning applications in Python and R to productionize Machine Learning models that predict trends amongst our workforce
  • Collaborate amongst the team, communicating key findings to our business partners and finding new ways to use data to tell the stories of our colleagues

Here's what we need from you...
The role will suit data professionals with some work experience or graduates with significant technical experience. In particular, you’ll need to have:
  • A good understanding of Python, R and SQL including writing and productionizing code
  • Understanding of the full Machine Learning lifecycle including automating data validation, model training, model validation and model monitoring through to presenting insights and findings
  • An understanding of how data & insight is used in commercial decision making
We're particularly keen to hear from individuals who have a track record of delivering data projects within commercial environments, and experience working with people data would be an extra plus!
